| Mc Auliffe | |||||||||||||||||
| This is the crest of the Mc Auliffe's. The clan originated from the Mc Carthy's. The son of a chieftan named Aulif. Hence the name Mac Aulif. The Mc Auliffes ruled the areas around Newmarket and some history shows that the even spread as far as Limerick. They had castles in the townlands of Castlemcauliffe and Park. Most of the stone from these castles was used to build the James O Keefe memorial institute. This was once the house of an English Landlord named Alworth. The last chieftan of the Mc Auliffes was killed in the spainish army in the 18th century. Ledgend says that the banshee of the Macs lived in a cave in the Shreelawn wood and could be heard screaming whenever a chieftan died. | ||||||||||||||||
| A PINNA GUINNESS | |||||||||||||||||
|
There's ateing and drinking in this. Drink enough of it and it looks like you ate a horse. All the same it's deacent. The nicest pint i've ever drank is in the Hurlers(Front Bar) Dublin Road limerick The guinness in cork is good too. The best pint you'll find is in the Guinness house. A thesis has been written on Guinness and on how the bubbles in it travel down. So next time your having a pint think of the technology behind it. | ||||||||||||||||
